The Berkeley Institute for Islamic Studies (hereinafter referred to as “BLIIS,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides services to you subject to the following conditions. If you visit or donate at this site, you accept these conditions. Make sure that you read them carefully.

The Berkeley Institute for Islamic Studies’ copyright material and trademarks may not be used in connection with any product or service that is not BLIIS’, in any manner that is likely to cause confusion among people, or in any manner that disparages or discredits The Berkeley Institute for Islamic Studies. Unsolicited Email Policy

Unsolicited Idea Submission Policy

Neither the Berkeley Institute for Islamic Studies nor its affiliates accepts or considers unsolicited ideas, including ideas academic publications, blog posts, vlogs, podcasts or any other type of media and intellectual content. Please do not send any original content or demos. The sole purpose of this policy is to avoid potential misunderstandings or disputes when BLIIS’ content might seem similar to ideas submitted to the Berkeley Institute for Islamic Studies. So, please do not send your unsolicited ideas to BLIIS or anyone working at BLIIS. If, despite our request that you not send us your ideas and materials, you still send them, please understand that BLIIS makes no assurances that your ideas and materials will be treated as confidential or proprietary.

Disputes

Any dispute relating in any way to your visit to BLIIS shall be submitted to confidential arbitration of our choosing except that, to the extent you have in any manner violated or threatened to violate BLIIS’ intellectual property rights, BLIIS may seek injunctive or other appropriate relief in any state or federal court in the District of Columbia, and you consent to exclusive jurisdiction and venue in such courts. Arbitration under this agreement shall be conducted under the rules then prevailing of the American Arbitration Association. The arbitrator’s award shall be binding and may be entered as a judgment in any court of competent jurisdiction. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, no arbitration under this Agreement shall be joined to an arbitration involving any other party subject to this Agreement, whether through class arbitration proceedings or otherwise.
